A few words about the history of the Hotel de la Paix
The establishment, known as the Belle Vue Hotel was built in 1894. In 1911 it becomes known as the Hotel de la Paix. Famed for its location just a stone's throw from the Gérardmer lake, the hotel-restaurant was run by several owners throughout the years, until it was purchased in May 2002 by Michel Harasse who renamed the restaurant "Le Bistrot des Bateliers" and developed a partnership with the Logis de France chain until 31 December 2011
After much renovation work and modernisation throughout the hotel between 2002 and 2008, the "Bistrot des Bateliers" became "l'Alsace". Then, between 2008 and 2013, a part of the common area of the hotel was renovated and the newly remodelled "Alsace" became "La Brasserie de la P." in November 2012. . The Hotel de la Paix and its Brasserie de la P., recognized for their convivial atmosphere, their cuisine highlighting local and traditional dishes and their ideal location just a stone's throw from the lake and the town centre, welcomes families, couples and friends in total simplicity. 2017: Extensive renovation program, theme rooms are created in the annex of the hotel. 2018: The Brasserie de la P. permanently closes its doors, our guests are welcomed at the restaurant Le Toit du Lac close to the hotel de la Paix.
